I'm looking for the following information about Unix. Family of products, most current version, Min. requirements, recommended environment, recommended use, hardware platforms, licencing issues, c2 compliance, security features, future of Unix.

This is really beyond a "tek-tip". There are seveal versions of UNIX out there -
Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, FreeBSD, ... ...

Each one has its' own features, strengths and weaknesses. UNIX itself has been around for > 30 years.

From here, do some web searches and you should be able to find more information.

Bill.
