Hey all,

Our restaurant was looking at revamping our To-Go process... Part of this would include printing labels for each menu item to signify what is what in their bags of goodness. For example, a chit would print out for a menu item with our logo at the top of the label and under it, having a format similar to "_____(menu item)_____ prepared for ____(name)_____"

Has anyone been able to successfully implement To Go label printing in their locations? Would mapping menu items and reference names to labels require more than just traditional POScfg programming?

5.4 RES 3700

Thanks for reading.

Probably be easiest with a SIM. Are you planning on printing the labels at receipt printers or order printers?

That's what I was afraid of. In a perfect world, any order type set as "To-Go" would redirect to the label printer and print a runner chit for each item. I'm not entirely sure if a receipt printer could handle the "per item" portion of it, is there an option for a receipt style printer similar to the dopplebon chit option in Order Devices?

You have a Single order, however, the order fills two bags. You want a single chit printed for each bag? or multiple receipts per order?

If multiple receipts per order (because of bags), you can have the GoTo Button post order info ("_____(menu item)_____ prepared for ____(name)_____") to the check detail area.
Then upon Finalized Tender have it check the detail area for this info, if found step into a Receipt Print function. You can ask for how many receipts and then print X amount with Guest information and order. You can also split the order at this time as well, via different methods (by Major or Family Group and or class).

Example Let's say any Menu Item in the Family Group for Entrees, can only have 2 per bag, or 1 plus small item, it can read each item in on the check and split them. It might be a little harder this way but it could be done or done manually and just have it print out X receipts and have the ToGo Server/Host split the order and just mark whats in each bag.
