RES 3700: Automatic Discount not working

Sales - Discounts, added a discount, set type to Automatic. Discount is 50%, for food items, time set to two weeks, period set to dinner. Discount SLU is the only available discount SLU, using a default touchscreen template that I cannot edit.

RVC Discount - (this RVC), selected "Automatic discount effectiveness"
RVC Transaction - Enable Automatic Discounting selected

Issue:
On touchscreen, this discount doesn't show up (because it supposes to be automatic?); when ringing up menu items, discount is not applied.

If I changed this discount to Manual, then this item shows up; but then have to manually apply the discount.

Any idea why?

Have you turned on automatic discounts? Or use the discount debug feature to see where it gets stuck. You dont need to apply the discount if set to fully auto. It will apply its self. Us manual/auto to debug then change once its working

Discounts Diagnostic Feature
Embedded in POS Operations is the ability to poll the system to
determine the current status of the discounts feature.
When run, the diagnostic will display the following information:
Š The discount options currently active and inactive for this check.
Š Any discounts applied to the check.
Š Trigger menu items present on the check.
Š Number of discount calculations performed and the duration of these
calculations.
To view the Discount Diagnostic window enter 1702 in the keypad and
press either the [Add Auto Discounts] key, or a manual discount key
with an assigned Rule Type. The diagnostic will display as a secondary
window on top of POS Operations
his feature does not work with traditional manual discounts with no
Rule Type configured.
The discount diagnostic is intended primarily as a troubleshooting and
inquiry tool. When finished click [Ok] to close the discount diagnostic
window.
