Res 3700 5.7 MR6

WS is always on msg 'Waiting for MDSHOSTS file' even after doing the following
1 flashed and re-cald
2 manually copied hosts file after recreating the file
3 recreated hosts file in windows folder
4 set DB to discovery mode
5 Firewall off

Res 3700 5.7 MR6 and WS5 (001) my only suspicion is WS5 but installers say they have used WS5 in many locations previously with 5.7 and have had no issues

Did you restart micros back office pc?

Or, restart micros distributed service, database update service, reload database.

Yes BO micros server was restarted too
All services were restarted (ones you mentioned). Restart of server effectively restarts the services anyway

Try copying the MDSHosts file to the CAL directories on the server. I forget the exact path but I believe it mirrors the server, that is what fixed it for us (previous employer).
