I have a BCM 400 at company headquarters and a BCM 50 at a remote office. The remote office has 12 IP phones that are registered to the BCM 400. If the link between the 2 offices goes down, but phones will re-register with the 50 so as not to lose conectivity. My question is, when the network comes back up is there any way for the IP phones to register back to the 400 at headquarters without power cycling the phones?

Nope - the only way to get them to re-register to S1 once they are registered to S2 is to power cycle/reset the phone set. Only way around this would be to have a CSE at the main office and a SRG at the remote - then the phones will automatically re-register. It'll cost you a heck of a lot more than you paid for the BCM 400 and BCM 50 though... :)

Thanks Biv343, at least they are all running with PoE and you only have to reset the PoE switch.

A shortcut to reregister the IP phones without having to disconnect the power supplies or ethernet cords is thus:
press MUTE, UP, DOWN, UP, DOWN, UP, MUTE, 9 RELEASE. This will repower the phone to do maitenance or IP changes.

I wonder if it would work if you setup your DHCP to renew every 20 minutes or so, then program your DHCP server to send a primary and secondary server (S1 & S2). When the DHCP response comes back, will it force the phone back to S1? Not sure. Never tried it. This, of course, means that you would have the phones setup in "full DHCP" mode.
