Required Components or Ext's for ASP to connect to a DB

I have IIS 4 in stalled on one of my servers, and I can run ASP pages on the server, but I CANNOT CONNECT to a database (access nor SQL Server). I know my connection string is working, because it works on my IIS 5 server that have, that i do my development on. But if I move the code, to the IIS4 server, it will not be able to connect to a database. It will just sit there and clock. FOR A LONG TIME.

The questions is: .. Are there any required dll's or extensions on IIS4 that you must have to use ASP to connect to a database?

What kind of error messages are you getting? Can you ping or does your web server know of the server where your access/sql database is? Are you using NT authentication or SQL authentication? A little more info would help...

Are you using a DSN? If so, is it configured on the IIS 4 box? Wushutwist

I'm using a DSN-LESS Connection string, and I CAN ping the SQL server. The SQL server is on the same box as the IIS 4 server.
Unfortunately, I have left the computer for over and hour, and the status bar on the browser window sticks at about 1/2 of the way to completion. Its like it just hangs. I dont know whats wrong with it.

Create a DSN and at the end of the wizard it asks if you want to test the connection. Go ahead and run the test. If it succeeds than at least you know the connection between you and the server is not the culprit. After that you will probably have to post some code for us to effectively help you. Wushutwist
