I have a pretty straight forward question regarding the Required Menu Category in Aloha version 6.1 (? I think).
We would like to require 1 drink (required item) to be entered per each guest or entre entered. (either one would be fine)
I've included all beers, wines, water, NO BEV, etc, into the required menu category (which in effect says, one of these items must be on the check before it can be closed).
It's kind of working... but I have 2 questions.
1. In the Required Menu screen, there is but one option (aside from specifying what the require item category is) which in effect says: Require Item On Send (it's an on or off check box).
The restaurant wants it to require the item on CLOSING the check, not before and entre can even be sent (which is how it's handling it now).
I tried not checking this to see if it maybe it just defaulted to requiring the items on close, but not checking appear to turn the feature off entirely (it never asked for a required menu item at all when that box wasn't checked).
The store swears another location on a similar version Aloha had it setup to require a drink item on close, not on send. What am I doing wrong?
2. If and when I can get it to work like I described in question #1, is it going to automatically demand one of the required items per guest/entre? I assume this is the case, otherwise the feature would pretty useless if 6 people came into eat and servers could get away with just entering one drink for the entire guest check. (And where this configured would be helpful to know as well)
I am 99% of the way there on this issue, just hoping someone could help me wrap it up. Thanks!
