I need to execute a program inside Crystal somehow - to send login credentials and a document request to the Verity Command line request so that Crystal will display the stored document.

Anyone have tips on how to do this? I have never done this before.

Thanks!

I doubt that you can.

Your post is too vague though, not even including the software version.

Crystal is NOT a development environment, it is a banded report writer with good connectivity and 2 decent programming languages within.

You can also write your own functions using what's termed a UFL, again, depending upon your software version and development environment:

Thank you for your kind response. Crystal is version XI. I cannot connect to Stellant or Verity through ODBC, but have to use Verity's comman request line.

Then you'll need external code, although it might be called from a UFL within Crystal, or use a controlling application to make the calls to Verity and then pass the data to Crystal.
