Hello,
I have 4 servers A,B,C,D and would like the following replication
A->B using Merge Replication
A->C using Transactiona Replication
B->D using Transactional Repliation
I know that the publisher identity range/subscriber range/threshold needs to be set to manual and this works. However what is the best procedure to create a new article on server A.
If I create the new article and add it into the publication (Merge Publication on Server A) it trys to create the snapshot and fails as it cant drop something due to it being used by the Transactional Publication on Server A. So I delselect the article on the Transactional Publication on Server A then generate the Merge Snapshot and add the article back into the Transactional Publication.
Now the Server C subscription to the Server A Transactional Publication fails and needs to be recreated from scratch.
Anyone any ideas how to get round this?
As a possible alternative I was looking at using Merge Replication throughout, however I can get A->B and A->C working fine but the problem happens when I try and re-publish B->D. I've disabled Automatic identityrangemanagement and am still having problems.
Anyone have any ideas?
TIA
