The opt 11c is currently set up for all lines to hit the auto attendant first, the customer wants to save tis setup, but make all 6 lines appear on all phones. Will this be as easy as i think or will it be difficult?
It doesn't sound like the ideal set-up...you will have to re-program every phone in the place and the easy way to do that is build up one phone and copy it using the CPY command in LD 11 or LD 20.
How many phones are we talking about? One option is to set up the phones with an MCR key on each one defined with the 0 out option number in your auto attendant. Or another option is set up a couple of phones with the 0 out option number and set them up as a pickup group with the rest of the phones, there are pros and cons of each setup.
Yep, sounds like someone is used to a key system. N2NT's solution will give you the key system look, but if my mmory serves me correctly, I think that the software will restrict the line appearance to 16 phones. If someone else has more current info..chime in.
What you recommended doing will work, and it won't be that difficult, If this is what the customer wants and will not back down. The phone with MARP will be the one that controls the redirection for the lines (fna and hta), of course if they auto-terminate to the Attendant first they will not ring on the phones unless you set them up as selections on the attendant menu and the caller selects that ext.
What model of phones are you using?
i would use mcr keys, but i'll bet that cust wouldn't care for that, i've had dept's that wanted all lines on all phones, but it was easy to talk them out of it, as they keep adding lines, just train them on group pick-up..
