I need to create a report that needs to have hyperlinks from content page, also needs to have pictures in per record (record per page) and other information. I dont think access reporting can handle this, so could someone advise the best way to report in this way. This part of the project is some weeks away but I am trying to figure out the best way in advance.

Thanks

This is probably best asked in the Other Topics forum...

However, the only idea that is coming to me is to do a mailmerge with word but even then I'm not sure about the pictures... After all these years I have never played with them.

You might consider Automating word and manipulating it while looping through a recordset....

I suspect this might also be able to be accomplished with SQL Reporting Serviveces... but that would likely inlcude a move of data to SQL Server... Then again if you are jumping platforms there are probably a number of other solutions as well.

Can you be a little more detailed of what you want to do? Initially reading that I would say access can do it. However for some more complex reports I do what LameID says and use Word to do my reporting. You may also consider Crystal Reports.

Hi

We have an old Access DB that handles surveys for asbestos. For each Client there may be many sites... so we presently fill in a DB and attach pictures and drawings.

The survey is then exported in full and the report as html templates, which then create the reports in html. The HTML templates have what look like sql of VB code whcih drawes the information out. then all the html files are brought together in PDF Pro.

becasue we are doing the databse from scratch, we ahve found the present way very complex and not very usuable. So we are looking at an easier way to produce the report.

The report depending on the size of the survey as some standard text in the templates and then all site information and pictures then need to come in.

Currently the only way I have found to producre a document in access is usings lots of sub reports... is this correct.
We also need the index pages and som other areas to be hyperlinked, which again I cannot find away to do this in Access.

Hope this explains it abit more..

Thanks for the replies.
