Hello all,

Can somebody explain to me what actually a "repository" is ?
I've just discovered the oracle9 perfomance pack and would like to setup historical data recording.
I'm supposing I can look at stats for a given period, breaking down to every possible parameter and counter known to mankind & oracle.

But, how does one setup such a repository ?
Will it also be added to the listener as any other db ?
Is it merely a case of installing/adding it to a server ?

I know how to install and setup oracle9 'plain vanilla' and create db's and all that on solaris, but this repository seems something dark & mysterious which I don't yet understand.

Thanks for help :)

Repository is a serverside part of Enterprize Manager.

Regards, Dima

So, in my childish fantasy, i'm thinking it would be merely a case of selecting the aproppriate option in the setup right?
And how do you then go on configuring it or will it all just generate magic once it's installed ?

Yes, its installed during OEM installation. The whole process if well described in Installation Guide.

Regards, Dima
