repository server installation problem 6.1

hi,
I am trying to install informatica on Win2k.
I tried the installation procedure from the manuals but
when i try to install the informatica repository server it gives me an error.

"PmRepServer should be installed as a service."

I tried to re-install couple of times but still i am stuck with the same problem. I tried to look at the services it does not show the informatica repository server as a service. When i installed my repostiory server i gave the Administrators login and password and for domain name i tried the System name / blankspace but none of these have
worked out as i keep getting the same error.

the procedure i followed was to install ODBC and client and then repository server. i even tried to install the repository server first and then informatica client.
but without success.

After installing the products, did you first open Informatica Repository Server Setup, enter the Administrator password & make sure the "Output to event log" option was selected?
