Repository - how do you know which reports use which objects

I amnew to respository. Using CR 10 and CE 10. I read the documentation and tried out changes to text fields and creating formulas. My question is if at all we delete objects how do we know that which reports will get affected / are using it??

Is getting the warning on opening the report the only way?

Also, I deleted a logo and when I opened the report the obejct remained inspite of closing and reopening.. Will the objects including formulas stay??
