Reportsmith 4.2 SLOW!

Please help, we cannot figure out why Report Smith is running so slow.
SPECS;
Windows XP Pro machine SP1a
SQL (local) 7.5
Report Smith Version 4.2

Since we upgraded the system to windows XP we have not been able to generate reports quickly. we used to generate reports in a matter of seconds. now it takes over 10 minutes and the application appears to be not responding. if i leave the applicaiton alone, it will eventually spit out a report.

any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I may be able to help. Do you use RptSmith with PCPW? What versions are you on? Was any other software using BDE loaded to the new PC?

I installed Microsoft service pack 2 and it stopped behaving this way.

I have no idea how that helped.
