I have several reports that were recently built that will run fine from a users desktop but when posted to Crystal Enterprise they will only run when scheduled. If I run them on demand from the link they just hang and never return a result or error out.

Any Ideas?

Thanks!

When run on Demand it is the Crystal Reports Page Server that is processing the report. (Unless you are using the Advanced DHTML viewer in which case it would be the Report Application Server that will process the report) Scheduled Reports are processed by the Crystal Reports Job Server.

Check the properties of the report and ensure the database logon information is specified correctly. Also check the prompts and ensure that they have default values specified, and set them to prompt the user each time the report is run.

Check the Application Log in the Event Viewer to see if it has any useful information surrounding the problem.

Ensure the Page Server service is running...restart it.

Change your default viewer to the Advanced DHTML viewer and try running it again. This will at least change the server that processes the report and confirm whether it is a Page Server only problem.
