Hi all,

It's me again from downunder, the 'cattle management' database is coming strong.

I have inputted some data into a table and now want to run a report that tallies up the various data from each column.

Eg. "Cattle Class" - Cows, Bulls, Steers, Calves

Each row of the main table contains information of a cattle. What TagID, Class, Breed etc There are 8000 of them!

Now I want to generate a simple report to tally up the various types of classes.

EG

Cows - 1777
Bulls - 208
Steers - 3022
Calves - 3321

Total Cattle - 8022

Could some please guide me, I have tried producing a cross-tab query which seems to be half way there, but maybe not.

Cheers

Tim

You don't want a crosstab query for this.
Create a report..
choose group by "Cattle Class" (choose it from the second window of the wizard)
Choose summary options (choose sum) from the third window
Play with other options also to understand what are they..
Hope this helps
