I recently decided to use input masks on postcode and telephone fields to reduce errors in the data entered. I entered the smae mask in the table field and the form text box. For the postcode I used ">LL09\ 0LL" without the quotes and it works well. I have looked at the tables and everything is spaced as I wish.
But I have noticed that when I am using access reports and word documents generated using this data the space is missing from the examples entered after I started using the input mask. I can't find anything about this to give me a clue as to what is wrong. Any ideas or will I have to remove the input masks?
Thanks

The InputMask property can contain up to three sections separated by semicolons (;) The second section specifies whether Microsoft Access stores the literal display characters in the table when you enter data. If you use 0 for this section, all literal display characters (for example, the parentheses in a phone number input mask) are stored with the value; if you enter 1 or leave this section blank, only characters typed into the control are stored.

You could actually store the space. Or if you do not want to store the space, then you could make a calculated field that puts a space back in.
