I was asked to track down the answer to this for another person - so my apologies in advance if this is a totaly obvious question (my Cr.Ent. 9 is in the mail...)

They were working with CR 8.5 developer and had reports appearing through a web page. The ActiveX viewer was used and all was good.

They upgraded to Crystal Enterprise 9 and now those same reports are being rendered in HTML (three frame window) rather than the ActiveX control. Is there a setting that needs to be adjusted to make the reports render so that the ActiveX viewer is used? (They need this to be able to change the orientation of the paper and print multiple pages at a time.)

The default for CE 8.5 was also HTML.

When you say displaying through a web page, do you mean you used CE 8.5?

I don't haev CE 9 installed here, but going under preferences and select Active-X is how you'd do it in CE 8.5.

Thanks s.v.,

Where is that preferences setting? (Just so I can describe it without having seen it.)

In ePortfolio there is a choice on top saying preferences if the user is logged on as other than Guest.

I think that you need to do some discovery though, as in are they using ePortfolio (I think it's called ePortfolio lite in CE 9), and are they logging in?

Do they want to reset the viewer for the guest account permanently?
