Hi,
I have a logfile (originally from a UNIX server) that has been placed in a directory in my c: drive. The file has an extenstion of *.log. When I create a new connection as Access / Excel and select the file type as Text, I do not find the log file listed for selection in the file list. If I rename the file to *.txt it works fine. I tried different connections for various logfile types in CR but I have not been successful in reading the file.
I also tried creating a file DSN in ODBC and selected *.log as file extension and save. But when I select the file in CR, I get the error Database connector error 42000 odbc text driver cannot update, etc.
Is there anyway I can get CR to read the file without having to change the file extension to .txt??
I use CR 11 Professional.
Any help would be appreciated.
