Reportnet/Impromptu Help required --urgent

Hi,

I need a help in deciding the reporting component.
My requirement is to read data from database and generate the report in PDF format an save them.

But, there are 5 to 6 different types of templates in which the report needs to be generated.
These templates are associated with countries.(1 country has one template).

Now I need to generate these reports in PDF formats and save them on the server for users view.

If any one knows how to implement this Plz let me know.

Weather I should go for Impromptu or Reportnet. (is it possible in reportnet, if yes then plz provide the inputs)

It is very much possible in Reportnet.
Look into the documentation for "Creating new Templates". Do as guided. Create five templates as needed by you.

Now when you try to create a new report it will prompt you to select the template to base the report on. Select your template, create your report. Then run the report as PDF. When the pdf report opens, on top left corner you will see a save icon. Save it to whichever location you want to save it to.

I have few doubts in the same.
The templates are associated with country or customer.
so depending upon the country the template should be picked up and the reports should be generated directly in PDF format and saved on the server. is it possible?

Another point.

user won't be running this reports they are interested in PDF reports.so I need to automate the process of picking up the template associated with the country and generate the report.

Advice in this regard would be of great help.
