We need to create reports that are based on fiscal periods instead of months. The fiscal calendar has 13 periods. An example of a fiscal period is Nov 28th 2004 - Jan 1st 2005 (period 13). I need to run a report for the last 14 periods. For example, if current date falls into period 1, then I want to run the report where my applied date is between period 13 of 2003 through period 13 of 2004. Do you have any advice on how to accomplish this. I created a calculation that says if sysdate = applied date then period. This brings me current period. Now how can I filter based on this?

In the accounting world, the 13th period is usually only a year-end adjustments period. Therefore, it is not really date specific. In your example, is the time frame Nov28th 2004 - Jan 1st 2005 only reserved for the 13 period? Isn't it also another fiscal period, like the 12th maybe?

Your accounting application and corresponding DB should have the fiscal period as a separate field that you can report on.

I hope this helps.
