reportnet datasource creationg problem

I install a new gateway on the machine different from where the reportnet service and content manager reside to release the burden of the server. On the gateway machine, I configure the external dispatcher under environment, start the web server, and successfully open the reportnet connection. I can also run the sample reports from this new gateway; in fact I can do almost anything except when I create a new data source (a new connection). Here is the error message copied from the crnserver.log:

CAM-CRP-1064 Unable to process the PKCS #7 data because of an internal error. Unable to find an appropriate common symmetric key to decrypt the data.

PRS-CSE-1255 Exception error encountered in data decryption.
"

Both machine have same values for password under Cryptography->cognos->Certificate Authority settings->password. What do you think my problem is? Thanks.

Hi aaronpan,
1) Take a backup of the following folders:
C:\Program Files\Cognos\crn\configuration\csk
C:\Program Files\Cognos\crn\configuration\encryptkeypair
C:\Program Files\Cognos\crn\configuration\signkeypair
2) Delete the above folders
3) Ensure that the reportnet service is running where the reportnet server is installed.
4) Save the settings in Cognos Configuration of the gateway machine.
5) Stop and re-start the service (gateway machine)
