ReportNet Crosstab with Date

I have a simple list report with Date,State, and Amount. When I try to pivot the table to a crosstab I get an error:

'DPR-ERR-2082 An error has occurred. Please contact your administrator. The complete error has been logged by CAF with SecureErrorID:2005-06-02-17:58:49.088-#52'

the crnserver.log gives the error as 'the server did something wrong'.

Any ideas?
