Hi... I've been asked to amend a report that contains conditional formatting within a crosstab report.. The condition format requirement is based upon values in a differing cell...

My problem is that when the report is shown as a detail list report the conditional format works... as soon as it's converted to crosstab... the condition is not working as expected but is routing through to the 'Other' escape format... this obviously has something to do with when the calculations are made. but I am suffering "brain freeze" and am unable to figure out what I should do to resolve...

HELP!!!!!!!

I've had a similar problem and had it confirmed that it's a ReportNet bug. Basically, in a crosstab conditional formatting can only be applied to the same column that the value resides in. It can't be applied to another column.

Here is an excerpt of a response from Cognos support:

"I have confirmed that bug #451666 is related to your issue.

Apparently the bug was fixed in a pre-MR3 version of CRN, but for some reason the fix has
not been carried through to MR3.

I have logged a new bug for this issue under MR3; bug #517570. I will park your case
against this bug. You should be notified when a fix for this bug is available. "
