Does anyone know of a tool that I can use to find out old files on a server. I want to be able to find out files that have not been accesses say in the last 3 years and maybe archive them?

Any tool out there

Not to be hard headed, but I think this post belongs in a different forum. That said, for what it's worth, the tools you will use will depend on what operating system you are running (ie Linux, Windows, Unix etc.) If Windows, I know there is a utility in Explorer that allows you to find files based on any number of criteria (including date last modified) by right clicking Start>Search. This works at the individual user level, but I assume you want to do this at the admin level.

Vallan,

I'm assuming you are running on Windows and have MS Access available to you.

If so I have developed an MS Access tool that will generate the reports you want and store them in a table. If you can suggest a way for me to get it to you that does *not* involve posting your email address on this forum I'd be happy to send it.
