Hi all,

When I did the install of sql 2005 and reporting services 2005 I found many reports available within sql management studio. My question is is there a way to copy these and modify them so they can be run against different servers? I am looking to use Reporting Services to monitor some of the sql items and perhaps publish them to a dashboard. Anyone else working with this? suggestions? ideas?

Thanks,

:)

Have you opened them up in the Report Designer and tried saving the report solution to a TestBox directory?

Not having a "real" version of 2k5 installed yet, I don't know a lot about how RS for this version works.

I could not find the files to open :-( so I am redoing the install since I did not install the reporting services piece. I had searched the entire box for *.rdl and also for *adventure* (for the adventureworks database) and found nothing. Hopefully with the reinstall this will not be an issue.

Oh... That's not just you. I saw an article the other day complaining that AdventureWorks had to be installed separately.

Hold on. Lemme find the link...

TechRepublic has this to say on the issue (you'll need to apply for a free login to read it):

And Microsoft has the downloads at this link:

Hope this helps you out.
