Hey does anyone know a good place to get started learning about the built in SQL Server reporting tool? I use Crystal and Impromptu on a daily basis, but I wanted to use the built in as an option.

Thanks for your help!

Try it out.....Read a book.....it's pretty intuitive. There's a report creation wizard for the basics and if you have any experience building reports / forms in other apps, it should all look pretty familiar - just in the .NET environment...

Take a look at these FAQs. They may help you figure out a few questions as well as provide some good references on the subject of Reporting Services.

I was lucky enough to have one of our Vendor give me a free class.

The book that we used was "Microsoft SQL SERVER 2000 REPORTING SERVCES Step by Step". I am sure that there is better books out there but this one is pretty straight forward and will go over all the basics.

I use the Hitchhiker's Guide to SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services. It's pretty decent.
