We've got Merlin reporting installed on an old machine which we had to reboot on Friday. Now the reporting isn't working properly.

We are telling it to print off the organization detail report for 4/13/12, and all we are getting are 2 calls that occurred after 5 PM.

Our immediate window shows plenty of calls for all day Friday, but none of them are showing up in the report.

We have noticed a checkbox "Stop Call Processing" is checked, though when we try to uncheck it - it immediately rechecks itself and duplicates the last item in the immediate window.

Any ideas?

I found another screen that is spitting out an error whenever we try to uncheck that checkbox.

Code:
Program: Rate - 4/17/12 3:08:26 PM
Location: dbcr.c - line 362
Severity: 3
Message ID: 2015
Error code: 2
Database 'Dos' error (-1) adding to file S001\CRDB\crd.cdb the value ''.

Program: Rate - 4/17/12 3:08:26 PM
Location: rating.c - line 372
Severity: 6
Message ID: 2309
Error code: 2
Call rating is halted

Does this help narrow it down?

I don't know exactly what this is - I inherited the system.

The title of the main window is "MERLIN LEGEND Reporter". There are at least 4 other windows that open with it, including that error window, and an immediate window.

This is running on a Windows 98SE box to show how old this is.

yes there was a program called Merlin Legend Reporter , I'll see if I can Find the manual

Thanks for the link - though that's a File Not Found one.

I did manage to find an Installation and Use PDF from their support website - though I didn't find anything in there, except to call support.

Based off that error, it looks like it is trying to insert an null or empty value into it's database and it is not liking it. Unfortunately I'm not sure what to do about clearing it to get processing up and running again.

I have used HyperTerminal to connect to the SDMR port and it IS pushing data through, so that can't be the problem.

look in the windows task manger, to see if it needs to be turned on there

What turned on in windows task manager? This is the simplest task manager I've seen (I must not have used it back when I actually USED Win98).

I'm not sure what you mean by "look in your schedular". I know JUST enough to be very dangerous to our phone system - but actually know very little about how to really use or configure it, or even were to look for things. I'm not even sure what I'm looking for.

Still looking for manual ,somewhere in the mess of AT&T & lucent , books,

somewhere in your windows task is a startup for windows to start collecting your smdr data, it's needs to be turn on, it won't hurt to look around in the task to see something that may make sense.

It's been awhile since , still trying to remember about it, it wasn't a very popular program , as most people purchased a third party call collecting program

If you are referring to the "Call Collection Scheduler" then we are unable to bring that window up (I don't know if that is by design or not).

The Task Manager as you can see above, is also not very useful.

If you are referring to the "Scheduled Tasks" as part of Windows, then there are TWO tasks listed, though I don't know if either is the correct one.

The "Tune-up Application Start" runs "walign" on the first wednesday of every month.

Also we ARE seeing some data in the "Protocol" window, that does appear to be showing some of the data with current timestamps coming from the SMDR port.

Ok, I think we are now in the clear.

We had run all 3 database utilities that the software provided, without any success (Rebuild Indexes, Rebuild Internal Summaries, Verify Database).

At this point we understand we've lost a few days of records, and no longer care - we just wanted it up and running.

We found a PURGE option, with the option to rebuild internal summaries, and decided to run it just to see if we could get it running.

We lost most of the records for the current accounting period, but we did manage to keep the last few days of records.

Thanks to all for attempting to point me in the right direction, and a big thanks to this forum for being an outlet to solve problems - even if we end up solving them on our own.
