I'm trying this again becuase my last question wasn't very clear.

Is it possible to run a report from an excel file that is very large (26 meg) and is linked to many many other excel files?

I've tried but I'm not getting all of the data. Any suggestions?

Thank you

What problems are you experiecing? Not all of the columns or not all of the rows of data, or not the data linked from other spreadsheets? What?

I think not all of the records. For instance, I know that I have records for codes 34014 and 34013 (I know this by either opening the spredsheet and filtering it, or saving it as test and importing it into Access).

If I connect to it with CR and select 34014 I get 2 records. If I select 31013 I get no records.

If I do the same thing in Access on the imported txt (I haven't been successfull getting access to link to the live spreadsheet) I get 5 records for 34013 and 55 for 34014.

Thank you

Have you tried using the Crystal Reports Excel add-in for this?

If not have a look at the Tools >> Add-ins menu and look for Crystal Report control

Add this and you will get an icon on your toolbar.

You can then use this to lasoo the data you want to report from the XL spreadsheet. I have used this a few times and it is pretty handy.

OK, I found that and installed it. When I tried to use it it said not enough memory. It also said something about a paradox table which I have no idea why it would be associated with this, but I didn't create the excel spreadsheets, so nothing would surprize me at this point.

Kind of OT, but does anyone know how to find out how many things an excel spreadsheet is linked too?

Thank you
