Reported Size query

I'm just checking through some of our backups

Netbackup 3.4.1 is reporting on one server that it has backed up 67314816 Kb which in my book relates to 65737 Mb. However when I add up the actual disk space used on the server (Solaris 8) I get a figure of 55789 Mb. What could account for the difference of 9948 Mb?

This could be caused by compression. If you are using hardware/software compression some of your files will compress backwards if they are non compressable.
