Is there a quick way of producing different colours for different codes without overlaying field several times and using the 'print when' command.

Sorry I didn't mention FoxPro version that I use, it is VFP6.

You are out of look.
You can't do this in VFP6.
You should consider to upgrade to VFP9. Only chnages in REPORTING system worth every cent you pay for it. :)
