Report Writer not available 1

I created a new company and the report writer is greyed out even with sa. Security is marked and I can get to it if I switch companies. Anyone seen this before?

Yes, in the newer versions 'sa' does not have security rights to Report Writer (or other Tools) until you go into security and change that. Don't know why, but I have seen it before.

This is v8 and it's marked in Security, is there somewhere else?

Nope that should do it. If you're using 'old' security (as opposed to Advanced Security) sometimes you need to unmark and mark an option for it to take affect. Also, just to be safe, log out and log back into GP after making security changes.

In v8.00 & v9.00, the default security for new users and new companies is deny access to customisation tools.

You will need to use Advanced or Standard Security to grant access back.
