Is there an easy way to create a report that shows optional fields dependent upon the parameters chosen without hardcoding each field/formula?

Not really. The only way I know of to get optional fields to show/hide is to specifically code for them.

thread149-655589 might help. You would still need to code for the full potential array of fields at design time though.

If you have limited number of field combinations you can create a subreport for each combination and suppress all subreports except the one with the right combination. Of course this approach will work just in case you don't have subreports in your report.

This task might be easier if Crystal reports is not required.
