OK, I have an unbound report that will contain several subreports (probably 4-5.) I am doing this is so I can break a report of donations into sections (name and address section, donor number section, donation details section, etc., that will display a summary of donation records for each donor, or by date range.)
The reason I am using subreports is so that each section can have Can Grow and Can Shrink capability, so I don't have a bunch of blank spaces in my reports.
I started with a subreport attached to a query of donors. The subreport contains the Donation Date, and the name and address of the donor. The subreport has can grow/shrink set to Yes.
To the right of this report, I made a 2nd subreport, that has the Donor number, or Temporary Donor number.
The subreports are in the detail section of the main unbound report.
Here's my problem:
1. How do I group the subreports together to make sure the name/address section matches the donor number section?
2. Is part of my solution having separate queries for each subreport section, or can I use the same query for the name/address and donor number subreport? I tried using the same query for both subreports, then I tried duplicating a query, and used 1 for each report. I still can't get them to group correctly.
3. How do I make the donor number show 1 record for each name/address? In my multiple experiments, I managed to get both subreports to list each donor name/address in the right order, then right next to it, the donor numbers lists the corresponding info, but it is not aligned with the name & address.
There are more sections, but if I can figure this part out, I can probably use the same logic on the rest.
