We are using a Database via a network. We have multiple
computer stations with access to this database throughout
the factory. Everything was working great until last week
when at one of the locations we could no longer print
a report. The following error keeps coming up:
You must install a printer.

A printer is installed and always has been. The printer is
a network printer. If you select any other network printer
the report will print. It will not print to only this one
printer and my IT department is trying to say it is the
database. This printer worked last week but all of a sudden
it will no longer print. Has anyone seen anything like this
before? Any suggestions?

Of course we have reinstalled the printer numerous times
but to no avail.

Have you tried going into the report in datasheet view and reselecting the printer? I'm assuming you are just telling the report to print via code and trying to circumvent the windows "select printer" dialog. Also, if the DB is split, you might try recompiliing the FE.

I'm going to also assume that you have printed a testpage to verify the installation of the printer....

Just a thought.

I used the Command Button Code to print based on the default printer. The printer prints testpage just fine. The database report prints to any other selected printer.

Alrighty...

Have you tried to print the report by clicking on the file menu print? If that works, then try recompiling the code behind the button.

Any errors or does the database just give you a stupid look?

I love it when my database gives me a stupid look!!!
