Report Viewer question 1

I have created a report with a start date and end date parameter in Crystal 2008. My boss only has the viewer and is apparently unable to select the date parameter on his end. I am not a programmer and do not know how to accomplish this? All I need to do is find a means for my boss to select dates thru the viewer to view the different months data

You can't. The basic viewer only allows users to read reports saved with data.

YOu will need a third party piece of software , Crystal Report Server or build your own application.

Third party tools include Recrystalise, datalink not used them personally but have heard good reports.

If you are using XI, and the crystal server,, the app. you roll to the "web site", will support setting up parameters that you can use a the date selections,, and then print them on the report.

There are a dozen or so viewers that will allow the user to refresh and fill in the parameters. See the LINKS page on my site for a list:

The only viewer that does NOT allow refresh is the official one from Business Objects.
