Ok, what I need to be able to do is the following:

MHP/FINANCE/Rpt 1

Rpt 1 needs to be modified, I need to be able to make changes to report one BUT still allow it to be used as is until new version is done AND retain all past instances and recurring schedules, anyone have any ideas???

I know if I move it it will retain the history BUT, it wouldn't be able to be used as is then and if i copy it I can make changes but no history is retained.

HELP PLEASE, I'm thinking this is easier than I am making it.

THis sounds like a Crystal Enterprise issue, in which case you are in the wrong forum.

There is a separate Crystal Enterprise forum.

Well I'm using Business Objects XI, this is where we publish our reports, its not just crystal reports, its all, WEBI, DESKI & Crystal. If I should be somewhere else please advise and I'll move my post.

There is not a BOXI forum so Crystal Enterprise is your best bet.

To answer your question, I think your only option is to move it to an archive, when you have your new version.

The only question is - What value is there in keeping the old instances. Do users ever refer to them?

Ian

When you UPDATE the RPT in the BOE-XI environment, don't use the CMC.

Do a "SAVE AS" of the RPT from the CRYSTAL REPORTS desktop tool to the ENTERPRISE folder/object location.

This will "overwrite" the existing RPT and keep all you history.

If you have any RECURRING or PENDING instances in the HISTORY, you will need to remove/reschedule them to ensure they pick-up all the changes to the RPT Object.
