I have a DB on a server. This DB has several reports available. These reports SHOULD be used by supervisors to monitor data. How can I have each report create a log of when it is run and what user ran it. Most of the reports are called from a Form by inputing criteria and then using a command button to run the report.

A DBA once told me that one of the most frustrating things to a DB designer is that the users never ask questions throug reports...they just put stuff in....

Why not write to a log in the command button code?

Remou,

Sounds good.....so,would the log be a table or???
Do you have some reading material (FAQs) on how to do this. Or can you provide an example. Gathering the USERID information would be a tricky part for me.

Thnaks,

If your database is not set up with Access security, Environ("username") will give you the windows login username. An append query should suit for updating the log table.
