Report Trouble

I have a report based on a query. When I bring up my report, memComments, will not show up on the report...instead it shows a tiny square box.

Any help is appreciated.

Can you provide some more details?
Does your report source the query correctly?
Is the text box on the report sourced properly?

Really this is simple Access use, are you new to Access?

The report does source the query correctly. It shows all the other information...just that the comments to any of them. And the textbox is sourced correctly...unless Access messed it up...I dragged it from the Field List...and I recreated the report and included the comments field.

I'm new to creating reports.

Just to check, you have a textbox with a memo field referenced in its ControlSource property, fully sized and sitting in the detail section of the report? Can you confirm this?

If so, can you check what, if anything, is different about this control from the others on the report?

If not, please descrivbe exatly where the text box is on the form and how you are referencing the memo field in the text box.

Yes, the txtbox's ControlSource is memComments which is in my Table and its data type is Memo

If so, can you check what, if anything, is different about this control from the others on the report?

Format (It is blank...but so is half my other fields)
Can Grow (Comments is set to Yes)

The textbox is located under Detail

I changed it refer to another field, and it showed it. but I changed it back to reference the memComments and its back to the square box.

You have "Can Grow" set to yes. What is the size of the text box in design mode? Are there any comments in the field for the record you are viewing in the report? Could it be that the box is being shrunk down due to no data in the comments field? Is "Can Shrink" also set? Is it possible to see a screenshot?

Some have comments, others do not.


HOw do I add an attachment. I must be blind.

I think it has to do with my query. I need to split up some info into two queries. I have #'s that start with 121, 122, 123, 124.

121 and 124 needs to be together.
122 and 123 needs to be together.

I had this in the criteria field:

Like "121###"
Like "124###"
These were on seperate lines.
Once I put this in, it changed the comments to the box.

Any suggestions?
