From a query, I have created a report with the following fields:

Complaint Date (Where)
Response Date (Where)
Category (Group)
ID Description (Group)
Comments ( I don't know what to put here)
Complaint (yes/no check box on form) - (Count)

I show YES fof the criteria for complaint so it will give me only those boxes checked as a complaint. I want to total the number of checked boxes that are a yes for each ID Description under a category but I can't figure out how to do it.

Also, what do I do with my comments related to each complaint since that field does not fit into any of the "Totals" functions.

I don't know that I follow this completely, but you should have a Footer for ID Description and then put an unbound textbox in it. Set the control source to
=Count(*)

That should return the count within each ID Description group.

Kent,

It would be helpful to see a couple lines of what you want your report to look like. A yes/no checkbox has a value of -1 if it is checked so if some are checked and some are not you could get a count by taking Abs(Sum(checkboxname)).

Good Luck! Please remember to give helpful posts the stars they deserve! This makes the post more visible to others in need![thumbsup]
