Can you please help

I have a sub report within a report that does not have or need a child field to the main report. When I run the underlying query, the subreport produces three records which is correct and when I run the subreport on it's own, three records are produced with no extra pages. As soon as I run the main report the data in the subreport is repeated four times and thus I have four times as many pages. I assume I'm missing something very simple and any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Since you have no linking of fields between the main report and subreport, Access will produce as many separate reports as there are records.

Is there a reason you don't have a link between fields in the two reports? (You say the subreport doesn't have or need a child field link)

What is the relationship between the main report and the subreport?

It's hard to say more without knowing what you are trying to accomplish.
