Hi all,

I have a 17 page document which is in MS Word format. I'm trying to put it on an Access 2k application so that it can pull the relevant information needed from the database but Access reports can not cope with 17 pages.

Is there away around this problem or do I have to make a sub report for each page?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

If it is genuinly a "report" with 17 unique pages of data, then yes, sub reports are the way to go, but Access reports are comprised of repeating sections, eg Header, Detail etc, so for example in the case of an Invoice there may be a report heading section, containing the Company Names, Invoice Date etc, a page heading section consisting of Invoice Number, page number etc, and then a detail section consisting of 'n' repeating lines. The report in 'run mode' may be dozens or even hundreds os pages long, but in design view it is not necessary to repeat the detail section (for example), you just need to show one instance of it

Hope This Helps

Just a suggestion from a user not a programmer......

Did you make sure that the 17 page report is linked to a memo field?

Text fields can only handle 255 characters, memo fields can handle 65,535. Should be enough most of your report if not all of it.

Hope it helps,
