I am new to my company and I have never used Goldmine before. I am told that before upgrading from 5.0 to 6.5 they never had this problem. Now when attempting to print a Leads Analysis or Quota Anlysis you get the "Report Template does Not Exist" error. Was something deleted or moved during the upgrade? Or, do I just need to create a new template for these reports? If I have to create a new one, I cannot find any documentation on how to do this. Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

it sounds like they did not move the files over correctly when you migrated.

Do you have a copy of your old system somewhere???

If you don't have a good backup, take note of the filename of the report that it says doesn't exist and look in the goldmine\reports folder for filename.bak files and rename to filename.fp or filename.bp, whichever it says doesn't exist.

Thanks for the tips. We did not migrate, we just simply upgraded -- which was done before I started here. Also, Goldmine does not specify the filename that is missing. The exact error I get is "Report Template does Not Exist

To solve this, one would have to do a temporary install of GoldMine 6 on another machine and then pull some of the report files from the \reports\ sub-folder into the 'live' installation. Sounds like the upgrade didn't provide these for you. try grabbing all the files that start with 'SYS' to beign with...

Excellent idea! I will try that first chance I get.

Thanks!

careful about not running that 'temp' install on any machine that alreayd has goldmine or has a direct connection to the server or whatnot.. it can be very easy to totally hose everything up -- and I know you wouldnt want to do that... ;)

Goldmine upgrade from v5.5 on NT4 platform to v6.7 on Windows 2003

Hello,
I am in the process of upgrading Goldmine 5.5 to 6.7. Does anyone know the best way to accomplish this task. We are currently using goldmine 5.5 on NT 4. We have acquired a new server and installed windows server 2003 standard. I will like to install a fresh copy and move the database to the new server. Is this feasible? Will I loose my license? Should I upgrade first on NT 4 to version 6.7 before moving the database and user profile?

Any input will be appreciated. Thanks

Subscribe to the News Group at gmnews.goldmine.com, list public.goldmine6.general or one of the other ones. There are some good people in there.

NT4 is not a supported platform for 6.x. You won't be able to upgrade properly on your NT box. Migrate 5.5 to the new box first, then upgrade. Migration is not as simple as copying it, by the way. Give me a call is you need help with this..
