Report Studio Question

In Cognos Impromptu, when creating a calculated column, there was an option that allowed you to apply your calculated column before the summary filter ran. How can I do this in Report Studio?

A Report Studio summary filter is applied to the result set.
(Which is after applying calculations)
The detail filter limits data from the datasource.

For some reason that wasn't working, in fact I've yet to get the summary filter in report studio to work the way I want it to. I ended up adding the prefilter operation to my data item, and that solved the problem.

In Report Studio when creating a calculation, dragging in expression items from the Source tab (the package) indicates that the timing should be before the default aggregation occurs. Dragging in expression items from the data items tab (query) indicates that the timing should be after the default aggregation occurs.

Detail filters can be defined as applying either before or after the default aggregation occurs, using the 'Application' property.

If you define a calculation from the source tab and a detail filter with the Application set to be after default aggregation, does this give you what you need?
