Report Smith Translating fields (duplicate rows)

When you translate the reason code field why does it turn into duplicate rows. And how do you get rid of the duplicate rows?

1. version ?
2. database - Oracle or SQL?
3. Stand along or used with other application like ADP?
4. Does this always happen with translate or has this just started? If so what changed?
5. Sample of your results.
6. Your SQL code.
7. Any other information that might help.

I think it's because the same action reason code (and description, likely) is associated with more than one action. Either you have unique reason codes set up for each action, or you have to go thru an elaborate selection criteria process to whittle down the dupe rows you don't want on the report. I learned that one the hard way. Hope that makes sense per your table set up.

You can get rid of this by linking the Job Table and the Action Reason table twice.

Once on Action and once on Action Reason.

You also may want to check out the key fields. You may have too many fields set up as key fields.
