I do alot of report writing for users within my company and have set up users with custom reports that allow the user to bypass database security for specific reports. Also, I have macro passwords within ALL my reports that enable/disable tool bar features so the user can not tinker with anything that I may later have to fix. Not only that, I have macros that pass user ids and passwords behind the scenes.

I decided to open a report in notepad and to my horror there were ALL of my macros clearly visable for the world to see...including all my passwords I have used!

What can be done to secure my reports? Please HELP

I would not put any passwords in the reports or macros. There is noway to secure this info. I don't bother to hide any buttons as a shaved chimp could get past this if it wanted. I just keep a copy of the reports so I can restore it if it gets changed.

It's a bummer but ReportSmith is what it is, a simple reporting tool. CharlesCook.com
ADP - PeopleSoft
ReportSmith - Crystal Reports - SQR - Query
