Report security and CR 9/RAS

I'm using CR9 to create reports; I have RAS installed on the same box as IIS which also has the MSSQL2000 database I'm using for the reports. RAS is configured to look at a particular folder in my website so all rpt files in that folder are now available through ePortfolio Lite over the web.

I need to either secure one of the subfolders in the RAS report folder using Windows authentication or secure the view in MSSQL that the report uses - my goal is to have certain reports available over the web that require appropriate authentication (security) before being displayed.

Here's what I've learned so far:

- using a DSN set up for windows auth. for the SQL view does not work as the RAS uses the administrator account to view the RAS report folder (if I remove the admin rights to the web-enabled folder, the report files no longer appear in the browser)

- I don't know enough about MSSQL security since nothing I did in terms of users or groups permissions on the views, tables, or columns would stop the report file from running in the browser with all the data

I've read up about CE9 and it says it allows report level security but having never used it, I wanted to ask the group about it. Basically I need to have a set of reports web-enabled yet secure. I don't care if this is accomplished through windows auth or SQL auth (it will make a difference later but I need this fixed now).

Sorry if any of this is newbie-ish. Since I'm new to CR, RAS and MSSQL, I guess yo'd have to expect it. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.
