Report Scripting

Does anyone know of a tutorial for ACT! report scripting? I am using ACT! 2006. I talked to tech support and was told that the VB scripting feature was started by the sage programmers, but they abandoned the project and did not make it fully functional. However, I have seen at least one reference to scripting a custom field on this Forum. The on-line manual and the hard-copy manual are very weak on the reporting subject.
