Can anyone give me feedback on cViewManager Report Scheduler and CrystalDesk Report Scheduler. Any suggestions/comments on which one would work better, etc. We are currently using ReCrystallize to publish/access reports on our intranet if this makes any difference. Most all the reports have parameters.

Thanks

Hi Suzanne,

I developed cViewMANAGER and are happy to answer any of your questions offline. Email me at bruce@chelseatech.co.nz

If you are interested, one client regarded cViewMANAGER as an upgrade to CrystalDesk and used our product to replace a competitor. You can see from our ranking on Tek-Tips we know a reasonable amount about Crystal Reports.

And we have now released a new version of the scheduler that supports Crystal Reports 9.0. A Crystal Reports 9.0 Viewer was released at the same time. Editor and Publisher of Crystal Clear

Just be aware that when you combine fully automated running (scheduling) with web distribution you may be required to purchase a broadcast license. Depending on your version of CR this could be from $10,000 per year to a flat $35,000. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

Chelseatech what do you mean by:

"You can see from our ranking on Tek-Tips we know a reasonable amount about Crystal Reports."

Is there software rankings somewhere? I'd like to review them as well.

Also, can you tell me if your software will schedule and import to dump into a webserver sub-directory each night?

I was referring to the list on the right. Tek-Tips doesn't review software (to my knowledge).

Uploading a report to a web site is available via a soon to released FTP add in the cViewMANAGER. The program is written. I just need to package up the help files and installation for public release.

Sounds like your web server directories are available to you on the network so you may simply need to export and save to these directories.

My "Visual CUT" software:
allows you to schedule exports to any directory structure (existing or non-existing) using either UNC or Mapped Network Drive references.

The export destination is specified as an option for each report and can be dynamic. For example, the export destination option below would incorporate the value of the @YEAR formula in the report (for example, "2003") into the destination folder to be created/used:

Example of a UNC export destination option:
\\server123\ixm7\{@Year}\Sales for {Product_Type.Name}.pdf

Example of a Mapped Network Drive destionation option:
P:\{@Year}\Sales for {Product_Type.Name}.pdf

Cheers,
